An Instant Thrill

See full size image Call me crazy but, if there's one thing i love more than knitting, which there isn't very  many things, is that i love waltzing into a craft shop and heading straight to the knitting section. The huge smile that comes across my face the minute i see all the different colours, is astounding! There's so many to choose from. And, so many different things i could make with the wool. It's all so colourful and beautiful.

(some of the wonderful colours available)

As I wander down the aisle, i find myself adding more and more things to my basket. Some new fall colours that would go great with the mittens I'm making, some new knitting needles i just have to have and of course some great new pattern books, which i might add, you can never have enough of. I love it. Although my budget doesn't always agree. It always seems I never can leave empty handed. Even if I don't have any wool I nessiseraly need, I'll always end up buying some. There's a thrill I get just thinking about some new ideas i can knit!

Although some wool is used for certain things, most wool can be used for an array of things. Things such as, hat's mittens, scarves and even bags! Simple patterns are available for each of these projects, and you don't need a special craft store to purchase them. Shops in St Catharine's that I love getting knitting materials from are Micheals, and WalMart. Yes, some of the best wool comes from Walmart, and it's wonderfully priced!

So, the next time your there, take a look at the colourful array of wool and see what 's new!

A Long Winter Ahead

As we all know, Winter is coming up quite quickly! Before we know it, we will be putting up Christmas light's instead of ghost's and cobwebs. With Winter being so cold... it's the perfect time to start clicking those knitting needles and try something new. Maybe some mittens or a scarf? Or even the perfect pair of slippers for those cold winter nights!

Whatever you choose do make remember, just have fun with it. If you get stuck on something and don't know what to do next, look it up on the Internet. There's hundreds (literally) of video's up to help you out, so don't hesitate to give them a try! If you can't seem to figure out what to do please let me know and I will see if i can help.

Knitting is a great thing to do to pass the time bye. There's nothing better than being cozy warm in a comfy chair with your needles clicking, while the wind whirls around outside in the cold. Watching TV can be fun but knitting is a great alternative and certainly pays off. Try it! I know you'll enjoy it!

Happy Knitting!

"Coming Up" On my next blog i will be talking about some of the different types of yarn and what type works best for certain projects
